DERRY — EAGLE TRIBUNE -  It's a growing, thriving spot in downtown Derry and getting some attention from those at the state level who appreciate homegrown food.

Derry's Homegrown Farm and Artisan Market was on the state's radar Wednesday as Gov. Chris Sununu, along with New Hampshire Commissioner of Agriculture Shawn Jasper, paid the market a visit to honor the town's homegrown success and see the market in action.

DERRY — The season is warming up and it's almost time for Derry's Homegrown Farm and Artisan Market to return to the downtown.

The market officially opens for its third season on Wednesday, June 5 and is held weekly on Wednesdays, 3 to 7 p.m. at 1 West Broadway, through September.

DERRY — Organizers of Derry’s new farmers market are working to use the venue’s popularity to help cross-market businesses downtown.

The Derry Home Grown Farm and Artisan Market launched earlier this month after a farmers market had been absent from the town since 2015. Under a new group of organizers, the new farmers market is bigger than expected and could help boost other local businesses.

The opening of the Derry Homegrown Farm and Artisan Market drew a large crowd on Wednesday, June 7. John Potucek, a former state representative who now serves as a Derry Economic Development Advisory Committee Ambassador called the opening “a smashing success,” and estimated the attendance to have been at least 700 people throughout the afternoon and early evening.

Derry’s farmers’ market is set to open in June and local businesses are getting prepared for the summer selling season.

 

The Derry Homegrown Farm & Artisan Market, a committee of seven volunteers, has organized a farmers’ market for the town of Derry that is set to open June 7, from 3 to 7 p.m. The market will be held on the lawn in front of the Derry feed supply store on Broadway.

Terri Pastori, chairman of the Derry Economic Development Advisory Committee, is part of a committee dedicated to reestablishing a market in Derry.
